RECIPE: Teriyaki Chicken Skewers

Great Food on a Stick Appetizer for any Birthday, Football Holiday Party

  • 1 lb Boneless, skinless Chicken breasts

Teriyaki Sauce:


  • 1 cup soy sauce
  • ½ cup water
  • 4 tablespoons mirin
  • 5 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons white sugar
  • ½ cup honey
  • 1 tbsp minced garlic

You will also need Bamboo Skewers
(Soak in water so they don’t burn when cooking)


  1. Pre-heat oven to 400F
  2. Put all sauce ingredients in a small sauce pan and bring to a boil
  3. Reduce heat and simmer for three minutes
  4. Remove from heat and strain over a pyrex dish or container(make sure you have a firm fitting lid for it) using a fine sieve
  5. Place chicken strips in sauce container/dish, put lid firmly on and Toss and turn until all chicken is coated
  6. Marinate in fridge for an hour
  7. Remove chicken and thread on skewers
  8. Grill skewers under outdoor grill for best results

If cooking Indoors:


  • Pre-heat oven to 400F
  • Cook for 15-20 minutes turning halfway through cooking time
